What is “Maker’s Mentor©?”
“Maker’s Mentor©” is a new way for artists and 3-dimensional creators to fill in the gaps left behind because so many traditional techniques have been shipped off-shore over the past thirty to forty years.
Why do you need “Maker’s Mentor©”?
The trade secrets of many three-dimensional fields have been lost and many more are dying out every day. Videos of different qualities have replaced true training. Some are valuable and useful, and I have reviewed many from various sources, but I have noticed many shortcomings in this realm of information.
First, many assume you already have at least some knowledge in the area you are investigating. I will begin with a relatively simple set of instructions that many assume is easy to follow and will create instant successful results:
Mixing plaster-- Possibly the first question you may be asking yourself is how to mix it. It seems relatively simple. You add the water to the plaster (or is it the other way around) but you already missed the first important question. What kind of plaster do I need? Of course, the answer to that question depends on what you are creating. But back to the question. Do I need gauging plaster, moulding plaster, pottery plaster, casting plaster or do I need gypsum cement. It is obvious that if you don’t know the answer to these questions you are already out in the tall weeds. So, who do you ask?
That’s where “Maker’s Mentor©” can help.
